This skill, known as <a href=” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thin-slicing “>thin-slicing</a>, is the ability to find patterns in events based only on thin slices of experience, and gives her a great advantage when in the field. <b>Weaknesses:</b> Sharon, while much stronger than the average woman, is still just that: a normal human woman. She has no powers, and when push comes to shove, her strength has its limits. There will be people who can overpower her, even without powers. Despite her aptitude for combat, Sharon is really more of a thinker than a fighter. Where many of her fellow agents are more inclined to charge in, guns blazing or fists at the ready, Sharon is more inclined to assess, to think, to thin-slice. It doesn’t take her long; she usually isn’t far behind, but it’s enough of a difference to be noticeable and potentially serve as a problem for her. <b>History:</b> Sharon was born in Richmond, Virginia, the daughter of two wealthy Virginians who raised her in the style befitting a society debutant. Amanda and Harrison Carter were also very proud of their early American heritage, and from birth, ingrained in their daughter stories of her patriotic ancestors. But the one that interested Sharon the most was her Aunt Margaret “Peggy” Carter. Maybe it was the fact that she was a woman, maybe it was that she was still alive and available for Sharon to talk to personally. Maybe it was the rumors of Aunt Margaret’s fly-by-night romance with Captain America, which Sharon (as a teenager with a crush on the man, herself) found deeply tragic. Whatever it was, tales of Aunt Margaret’s days as a freedom fighter with the French Resistance inspired Sharon greatly. In college she studied World History and Computer Science. She trained in martial arts. As soon as she graduated, Sharon applied to and joined the international security agency S.H.I.E.L.D. and was assigned the code name Agent 13. Steve Rogers had been found and awakened by this time, and during one of her first missions, it was he who came to help her when she was attacked by Batroc the Leaper. Steve seemed to recognize her, but did not at first make the connection and Sharon didn’t let on.
